Sharilyn's Experience with:
the P3toLife Program During Phase 3 of the hCG Protocol
What were/have been your biggest concerns when contemplating going into P3?
Not knowing what or how much to eat to prevent weight gain and the dreaded steak days.
What did the P3 program provide to you that you feel like you didn't have before without it in past Phase 3s?
Stability of weight; weight loss was unexpected; I was always so satisfied; I had confidence that I can do this and it can work for me and I will be able to keep the weight off; I really loved the variety of food (I’d restrict myself to the things I found would work-not much fun); all of the food was so delicious.
How did you end up following the program - did you do the original plan, the simplified, or build your own meal plan or just tweaks to one of these? Can you give a few details of how you utilized the program and tailored it to yourself and your circumstances?
I chose the original plan. The only tailoring I did was to add more garlic…we love garlic.
Did you have to do any correction days during P3 this time and if so, what do you think was the cause and how did your correction day(s) go?
None. I lost 7 pounds without hunger.
In a nutshell, can you share your tangible results from following the P3tolife program? - how your weight has been, while following the P3 program?
During 3 weeks of P3, I lost 7 pounds and 13.25 inches in total. I also learned a lot about cooking different types of foods and had great energy.
How did you feel about the portion sizes & taste of the P3 meals? Did the portions and taste of the food make any difference in how you felt about eating/relationship with food while on p3? If you still felt hungry, how did you adapt it to add calories?
The portions were always enough or too much. The food was so good and so tasty.
I enjoyed all the healthy food and didn’t crave junk food or sugar.
It was amazing. I was always very satisfied.
Can you share a little about your personal life- ie work full time/part time, kids or hubby or school? Would love to hear how you made the logistics work of cooking the program with whatever time constraints you deal with. How did you manage to fit in preparing the meals with your schedule each week?
I am a CPA and I work part-time. We have one child still at home completing her degree in nursing. She’s joined in on some of the meals and loved them too.
I also care for my 86 year old mother and help with my 83-year-old father-in-law. I also coach and volunteer at a leadership curriculum. My schedule is packed.
The shopping and cooking took some time and each week I got more efficient at it. I did make it a priority.
I fit my life into the plan rather than fitting the plan into my life. I am committed that this is it and I’m doing all I can to make it work this time.
Have you struggled on past p3's and if so what were your struggles? Did the P3 program help address these struggles/how so?
In the past, I have lots of weight fluctuations. On this plan, it was easy to follow since it was all laid out for me and I didn’t have fluctuations, just weight loss.
Some days my weight stayed the same or went up a little, but never very much.
Were there any positive results from following the plan that surprised you, that you weren't expecting? Have you learned anything new from the program?
The continued weight loss was a surprise. I also was surprised by how much I loved cooking for my husband and how much he appreciated it. We’re committing to living like this from now on.
Also, the smoothies were a surprise. I really liked them and it was nice to have a treat. I didn’t make them very often because I either couldn’t work it into my schedule or I wasn’t hungry.
I learned that I love veggies and I really can eat a lot of them.
What were one or two of your favorite recipes in the plan?
We loved so many of the recipes this is very hard to answer.
I know Pad Thai with Miracle noodles and Thai Curry Meatballs were both favorites. Guess we like Thai food.
Was there anything in the coaching section you found useful or that resonated with you and how so?
I really appreciated the alcohol video because I like wine. I chose to stay off wine through Phase 3.
I have had some this 4th week and my weight is handling it well. I also liked the video about eating out in restaurants and the tip to ask for them to cook your food in olive oil and to tell them I’m allergic so they’ll be sure to respect my request.
Any other closing thoughts that you want to share about your experience with the program, or that might help others considering whether or not to give it a try?
At first sight, I wasn’t sure about spending the money to buy this program. As I started Phase 2, I looked more into what you offered and chose to invest in me and my success. I discussed it with my husband who is super supportive and he agreed. I’m so glad I did. Also, this time together with my husband eating these delicious home-cooked, whole-food meals, has been priceless! We’ve been eating on our porch. It’s really romantic and quiet.
I want to add that if I had any tips for others it would be to read ahead the recipes so you can plan your time and plan your shopping day or days, if that would work better.
Some weeks it was better for me to shop twice than all at once.
What type of hCG did you use?
I got injections from my doctor’s prescription to a local compounding pharmacy. The subcutaneous type. It included B12 in the injections.
Have you ever used Lipo shots or b12 shots, and if so, what do you think of them?
